That is not science at all. Dopamine levels does not mean addiction. It just mean that person have positive emotions, nothing more. Fact that cocaine rise dopamine level does not mean that everything that rises dopamine level is something like cocaine.
Looking at nice girl could rise dopamine levels to the sky. Does that mean that nice girls is more addictive than cocaine?
Russian sugar consumption per capita is less than USA but still elevated
In USSR sugar consumption was ~50kg
Regarding obesity, it's not just sugar: starchy foods like bread, pasta, potatoes, etc break down into glucose. A pryaniki could be "bad" due to the sugar plus the flour (if one eats too many).
Obesity cause is a malfunction of body systems, not the starch or sugar, or some other common ingridient. Otherwise, everybody would be obese, but this is not what we see around. Obese people are just broken and have to be repaired, others eat the same and never become obese. Some special diet for obese is just elimination of symptoms, not fixing the real cause of obesity.
I like pryaniks, I eat them a lot, I eat a lot of sugar, starchy food, bread, meat, etc. and I am definitely not a sporty person, just ordinary daily activity of suburbian habitant. I spend a lot of time pressing keys on computer keyboard and all that does not make me obese. This does not make obese most of my colleagues and friends who have same lifestyle. Only few ot them have excess weight, so it is definitely not a diet or lifestyle, but something else.
The third paper defines "addiction" as certain behaviors and shows that over-consumption of sugar induces those addictive behaviors. Do you have a problem with the defined behaviors?
If you will be deprived from water, you will easily show such "addictive behaviour".
Not sure about just looking, but there are sex addictions for sure.
How about holidays "addiction", or sleep "addiction"?
Cocaine addiction mechanism have completely different nature. Cocaine directly interact with pleasure part of brain crossing blood-brain barrier. Sugar, food, looking at girls and other pleasant for human things does not. If something activate pleasure part of brain, this does not mean that it is some narcotic.
obese people ate too many carbohydrates over years
Like all other people who, suddenly, do not become obese.
and have a reduced ability to process carbs.
To solve that problem you need to find out why they have a reduced ability to process carbs and fix that problem. Than, that ex-obese people will be able to eat everything without consequencesjust like others.
But that way will lower the profit of big farma, food corporations and different "diet creators".
/No - it's broken down into fructose and glucose, which do enter the brain.
And glucose is main fuel for brain. Regardless of the way it obtained. Things necessary for brain to work can't be "addictive".
Are you trying to claim the whole sugar molecule doesn't enter the brain therefore those studies are debunked?
Yes. It does not enter, so it can't interfere with pleasure center bypassing normal processes of feeling pleasure like cocaine do. Sugar is tasty, so it is pleasant, just like any other pleasant foods and things. There is nothing unnatural in it.
It's not the body's fault for a bad diet just as it's not the lung's fault for the person smoking cigarettes.
Nicotine and food is completely different things. Like sugar and cocaine.
You can avoid them today: whole foods are available at the super market
That "whole foods" from supermarket usually just the same garbage with another sticker.
