SPOILER ALERT -- don't read this if you haven't already seen it and don't want spoiler

S05E03 Rick and Morty is a rickandmortyesque meditation on the 1990s ecocringe captain planet cartoon, where diversitykids join witchypoo elemental forces to create a corporate golem to brainwash kids with leftist, globalist gaslighting tropes like planetary collapse, anthropogenic (as in 'us') climate change, melting glaciers and rising sea levels that never happened, all the while blaming the average person for the ecological crimes actually committed by 'the college of corporations' (deepstate), as a kind of 'liability / accountability dodge'.

Morty falls in love with planetina, who turns out, is actually just a marketing cult with a bottom line, and managed by now by self-serving, corporate-captured, selfish, avaricious genx / boomer age 'diversitykids' (started in the 90s). And that Planetina as a brand is being sold off to a rich gulf state emirate, assumingly to brainwash and regime change THAT state for fun and profit as they collapse it into the fold of the global empire.

Of course, that was until they fucked with Morty. The moral of the story is: don't fuck with Morty. He bites off the finger having the "magic ring" of the fire elemenal, some mafia made man tough guy poser, uses it against him, then arms himself with his skills honed by his grandfather and universes of close call firefights and takes down the other elementals, stealing their rings.

Now, Planetina is set free by Morty, having all the rings, but once she's freed, the new-found freedom turns her from an activist, to a sadist and eco-terrorist, burning down oil fields and blowing up cars and factories. Morty tells her to go, breaks up with her and cries in the end with mom.

It's actually incredibly sad. This show has never made me super sad for Morty / Rick before---not that I can remember. But it's for morty, not planetina. Planetina is a an artifice, a golem, a cardboard cut out, a doll. She's not a real person--she's a simulacrum, an egregore--then, as now, Captain Planet / Planetina are just some kind of corporate straw man to represent all the fake-woe and virtue signalling intent the polluting corporations are trying to FOIST upon the public through social engineering and social psychology manipulation. But keep in mind, they are doing this to your kids.

DISCUSSION

Ok so that's the plot; the reason I made this post is because--although I enjoy Rick and Morty for it's creativity I have to admit, that like other cartoons, it's 'programming'. Just like all the other cartoons, there has to be a globalism-per-second (GPS) metric to measure when watching these shows. Specifically, you watch them and wait for the "globalism" dialogue to show itself. Netflix shows make this very apparent.

It always does. There have been plenty of oblique digs on Trump, trump supporters, the deplorables, patriots, etc, over the year, and they sneak them in. R&M is no different. This one was climate change stuff, of course

But then something happened. They made two important statements:

  1. planetina was a corporate shill whose only actual value was in generating revenue as a marketing cult; and that neither the 'diversitykids' nor the corporation they represent; nor anyone else actually cared about the climate change

  2. eco activists always turn into terrorists, and when they do, you pull back the curtain to reveal that a) they don't really know how the world works; b) they don't have any REAL solutions other than violence which isn't a solution; c) their primary motive was political control (control freaks abusing their power)

So if this episode isn't a public admission of taking a red pill by some liberal cartoonists, and a measure of how our society is starting to 'come around' at the least to questioning their own bullshit about climate change, I don't know what is.
