Well here's an event worthy of a megathread. What a time to be a conspiracy theorist!

I appreciate your effort and kind of understand this, but crypto is not my strong suit.
What I understood is that there will (potentially) be keys released inside the blockchain (for people to mine or find?) that will be linked to hidden files? I guess I just don’t understand how the blockchain can be anything but a long list of receipts
It is a ledger with encryption. And you can write anything you want in a ledger, provided the programing allows it. And Ethereum allows all kinds of crazy things.
Many contracts on the Ethereum blockchain are capable of encrypting files. So either the files will simply unlock, or we will be given keys to unlock them.
These contracts, associated with the whackd token, are executing automatically. Like a ticking time bomb. They are counting down until they fulfilling the contract of self destruction.
It is at that time many believe files will be unlocked.
The main point being, is that these files are in the block chain, of which there are hundreds of thousands of copies actively hooked up to the network, and the only way to make them disappear is to take down the entire Ethereum block chain, and all of the tokens associate with it. That or rewrite the Ethereum protocol, to delete the token, and all files associated with it. Which simply is not going to happen.
So if this is truly his dead man's switch, they can not stop what is coming.
Thanks for that ??
I was totally unaware that you can write things within the ledger.
Hopefully EIP 1559 (London) isn’t some kind of snatch and grab/bait switch.
