I've never seen the bb18 thing confirmed, but it's conceivable explosives were used to blow out plane shaped holes in the buildings.
But (BTW) the graphic usually used to "prove" that they were active on the same floors the planes hit ("e-team" spelled in lights), actually shows a different tower, to the one that they were in, for the "after plane crash" shot. This is sus.
Thermite/Thermate being able to bring the towers down at free fall speed, turning the vast majority of material into clouds of dust which were carried away by air, and with the remainder collapsing with too small a seismic register, into too small a rubble pile on the ground, which continued to fume for a year afterwards... that's not conceivable. Plus very many other aspects:
