I was a genetics major in college, then switched to organic chemistry, and I worked with fluorescence, specifically fluorescence resonance energy transfer.
I kinda hate the internet, because one of my big ideas was to try and incorporate luciferase into trees, because how badass would a glowing forest be? Maybe could even partially eliminate light use, who knows. Seems worth exploring. I think it's been done already (like Norway or Sweden), but not naturally bred into the trees genetically.
Similarly, my real million dollar idea was to come up with genetically modified cannabis that would fluoresce under black light. More of a novelty than anything. But making it bioluminescent would be interesting too. LOL, you could tell how cheesed someone is by how radiative they are. Not like it'd work like that, just a funny thought.
Make people glow?
I have a couple of thoughts about it.
Could be just for general chaos.
Could be like an on/off light for people activated or controlled by 5G.
Could be used to identify people during a power grid shutdown, for whatever reason.
My curiosity is peaked between "magnetgate" and this so-called luciferase. I will have to look into it a bit further.
At the moment I'm really wanting to find someone recently vaccinated and bring a few lights with me (UV/Black/IR).
