Last year at the start of this we bought a box of masks. Upon getting home I found a warning on the box citing that the masks provide no protection against any viruses or pathogens.
Showed it to the wife and then took it back with the receipt for a refund.
I remember seeing a picture of such a warning...and the left had every excuse under the sun for it...."Well they're just protecting themselves from frivolous lawsuits!" "Don't use that brand of mask" "It's a photoshop" and the ultimate fallback: "Just wear the damn mask you selfish bigot!"

This isn’t a study, it’s a summary of at least 60 studies all of which demonstrated that masks don’t prevent infections or transmission of disease.

Yes they stop spittle and snot, the same as surgical masks. Neither claim to stop a virus.
Did you read the article? The virus is 1000x smaller than the holes in your mask.
It's like throwing sand at a chain link fence. Will some grains bounce off the fence? Sure, but most pass right through.
Masks do much more harm than good, and as we've seen over the past year they absolutely do not impede the spread of covid.
