The real issue is the vanishingly small portion of people who manipulate all these groups into acting against each other. Those who brought about Babel. That, and our own inadequacy in comprehending the reality of nature, resulting in our constant need to affix labels and brands to things which are naturally in opposition. In my estimation at least.
If they can influence you, you can influence them.
I think one would have more success if they start with what is shared with others rather than perceived differences. For instance, for the most part we all love those who love us.
