Kinda seems like the extra planet part was shoehorned in at the end. Like the antimatter stuff is interesting but like also seemingly a far fetched guess to take the antimatter stuff and say a planet blew up and that’s why we have this asteroid belt. Maybe a planet got blown up, but maybe not antimatter. Also we think there still is planet(s)? in the Kuiper Belt. And we get asteroids and comets from it too that are seemingly not antimatter. Did it all explode? Seems clunky but I love exoplanet shit.
Moreover - installing source of such laser light keeping antimatter stable would be pain of ass.And those gamma radiation in space (nuke in space is more radiation than real energy)... Also: black hole or any powerful "gravity technology" wouldn't do that too, because any black hole or "alcumbierre drive" would devastate whole star systems.
Unless that would be indeed antimatter - TELEPORTED to the core. Future star travel might be linked with "teleportation" more than anyone could believe.
However if planetoid belt would be ever a planet - those planet would be destroyed rather with use of neutrino laser(s) or neutrino lense(s).

u/axolotl_peyotl : it is pure speculation only.
