What are your thoughts on the antikythera mechanism?

From looking at the device a total of about 30 seconds, it appears to be some sort of computing device that tracked the stars etc. Now, as a non believer of the big bang outer space etc here's my thoughts. If the universe were expanding and we were traveling at near the speed of light with everything expanding away from each other outwardly in all directions, then how could they create such a device to track and predict these cosmic cycles? Furthermore, why are the stars in the night sky always in the same position? Wouldn't the night sky look absolutely different every night and not the same for thousands of years?
They are not.
Go look at the stars at night and look again 2 hours later. Different positions.
They are in repetitive, trackable cycles let me clarify.

and why do you believe this should not be the case?
If the stars and everything is exploding away from each other at near light speeds, then it should never look the same.
