I'm gone for like 2 days on a sled dog trip and come back to this god awful CSS? Sorry, but who came up with this? If we want to be taken somewhat seriously and a viable alternative, this is not the way, imo.
Anyone else, or am I just an asshole?

Also GIFS!!!

The gifs I like, not gonna' lie.
of all the .wins, only GA and conspiracies have gifs enabled. If you find any good ones let me know, our new mod from GA taught me how to add them...I've already done several in the gif sticky.
Also, did you try dark mode? It's pretty sleek.
I don't like the new CSS either. Looks bush league to me.
Guess we're both assholes, then. :)
Also, I'd rather not be staring at an All Seeing Eye every time I'm on here. It's demonic, and I've seen the entities its based on.
Dafuq is a css sounds like a modern day naval prefix
Cascading Style Sheet. It's an easy way to customize web pages.
If you want thus place to be taken seriously then the css should be the least of your worries.
I disagree. As a web developer and designer who has worked in the industry for 18+ years, design/image is everything. IRL, do you talk to those who look batshit insane, or those who appear pleasing to the eye? What you are talking about would be the next step in the conversation (ie. What said person has to say). Doesn't matter what that person has to say, if they are written completely off in the first place because said person is visually displeasing. Make sense?
As someone who actually runs a web development and sales company, I can assure you that unless your product is garbage, content and functionality are more important than design.
I think we both know you're full of shit.
Tell me more about your vampire relatives.
Only if you blow me first :)
On 'are more important than', I disagree. Design is part of information presentation structure, and that is important on a par with content and functionality. A poor UI makes things harder to use and possible less comfortable to use. An overly artsy vaporhead UI is torture, too.
On the other hand, a functionality that stinks, like many Android UIs, is a royal PITA. So, balance, and having both aspects be of good quality is the key. And there are so many websites that fail on either or both aspects.
Make UIs Great Again! MUGA er, never mind.
none of this is permanent...all of these images are made by users here and meant to be cycled out. Did you try the dark mode design?
Remember, there's an entire new generation emerging to consider that goes for this aesthetic.
Yes, I've tried dark mode (which I still fuckin' hate - black and blue is raping my eyes) and glad it's not permanent. I guess I can see where you're coming from, but, to me it's quite visually displeasing and a wee bit too TopMind ish. IDK, maybe it's just me. Not sure if you remember, but I did the CSS and design over on https://old.reddit.com/r/AlternativeHistory/ (Turn off night mode on RES to see if you have it on). You can be "far out" and still look sophisticated and approachable.
Would prefer a bit of green meself. Dark mode. Only you have the power to prevent eye raping. Maybe not but help is appreciated.
I am old and with poor eyesight. For me, a dark mode is way better for reading than a white background. Maybe give readers a choice - one for the young and one for the old. Also in your design efforts keep in mind some readers are on PCs and some on phone. Hard to optimize for both, case in point Microsoft and how they butchered Windows trying to make it work for both monitors and tablets.
