I'm gone for like 2 days on a sled dog trip and come back to this god awful CSS? Sorry, but who came up with this? If we want to be taken somewhat seriously and a viable alternative, this is not the way, imo.
Anyone else, or am I just an asshole?

As someone who actually runs a web development and sales company, I can assure you that unless your product is garbage, content and functionality are more important than design.
I think we both know you're full of shit.
Tell me more about your vampire relatives.
Only if you blow me first :)
On 'are more important than', I disagree. Design is part of information presentation structure, and that is important on a par with content and functionality. A poor UI makes things harder to use and possible less comfortable to use. An overly artsy vaporhead UI is torture, too.
On the other hand, a functionality that stinks, like many Android UIs, is a royal PITA. So, balance, and having both aspects be of good quality is the key. And there are so many websites that fail on either or both aspects.
Make UIs Great Again! MUGA er, never mind.
