There is a connection between solar activity and influenza. There was a long period of low activity on the sun last year i.e. very very few sun spots or a "solar minimum".
When Influenza was first observed in the 1600's, through a process of elimination, they narrowed the cause down to sunspots, hence the name "influenza"... originally "influenza della stella" or "influence of the stars".
So there actually is an explanation (which is long forgotten and usurped by "virus" theory) where it disappears according to an 11 year sun cycle. Moreover, this minimum is theorized by some to be the beginning of a "grand solar Minimum" so it could be a more noticable lack of influenza than in living memory or even longer.
I don't mean to undermine covid hoax theories, but I don't really believe in pathogenic viruses as they are supposed to exist anyway. This correlation between low solar activity and influenza is consistently observed in human history. the virus obsession has overshadowed it, but that does not mean it's incorrect.
