How did the left go from Occupy Wallstreet to We <3 Wallstreet in 8 years?

Either these people are rabid statists who actually worship government or they are easily propagandized idiots who do what they are told out of fear of social rejection.

The elites recognized that they're being threatened, so they instead release "social justice". Think about it, the Occupy Wallstreet movement is exactly the same people as BLM.

yes exactly

OWS' initial focus on class struggle was rapidly co-opted by planted shills and controlled opposition who turned its focus to social justice which eventually was inorganically guided to become BLM and adopt all manner of critical race theory bullshit

the occupy movement was where the progressive stack first showed up, which was one harbinger of what we're seeing today

many socialist types back in 2011-2012 could've told you that exploiting racial division was a divide-and-conquer tool of the elite (but somehow most of them are on board with that shit now)

I think the answer is both.

Brainwashing.

Social media brainwashes people.

Mindless scrolling, only reading headlines, results in those headlines being cemented as reality.

You couple that with the fact that people can't accept when they're wrong or being stupid, and that's what you get.

I guarantee there is plenty of that same mentality here and all over the .win universe.

Don't forget it's 24 7 scrolling particularly in the wee hours of the night oftentimes drunk or high when your brain is essentially relaxed in a trance like state.

Great explanation.

The elites subverted occupy wall Street into identity politics to deflect blame, that's how.

They spend all their lives looking at social media on their phones and if their social media tells them to believe contradictory things thats good enough rationale for them. No independent thought. You do not need to be smart yourself when you have a smart phone think for you.

I don't think you know anything about leftist politics if you think that "we <3 wallstreet" is a part of their philosophy.
