I don't even think Google is good anymore. People have figured out the SEO and abuse it to an absurd degree. If you try to search for basic information you will almost always get the "latest" clickbait articles regarding that info as opposed to say a high quality article written years back.

WTH! You're freaking right, why have I literally never tried this. I just searched for "dog" and google says there is "About 3,710,000,000 results". I got to page 30 and that was the end... It should take me the rest of my life to get through all the results but it stops at page 30!?! So I'm guessing the "pages" of results is actually a complete fabrication and instead the "page" represents some sort of relevancy indexing where it's actually just running the same search but with a wider net of perceived relevancy.

The info is correct. Google algorithm is not a 1 to 1 result. It's actually how they order the page. It's based on links, mentions, relevance.

If you feel any better about it, AT&T was broken up, and Microsoft lost and had to give others get into the internet browser and the search engine biz.

Apple is starting their own search engine to compete, and the lawsuit to break up Google's search engine monopoly, filed a few months ago, may succeed. Unless Biden tells them to settle for nothing that is.

I agree. Nobody saw that when Google created a search engine that worked better than its competitors, a natural thing to occur due to competition, could have ended up where it did.

Re: Learn to code

Where would you advice one to start on this quest? What formats would be most helpful in creating alternative tech solutions you describe?

The anti-trust case Google is facing right not alleges that there is evidence of Google and Facebook colluding on ad price setting.
