Looks like the media completely made up the fire extinguisher attack: "Authorities believe Sicknick's death was driven by a medical condition...So far, reports of an attack haven't been confirmed." (twitter.com)

Anyone else's glowie detector going off with just the name "Sicknick"?

The MSM needed this guy to die so badly...explains the fake news and the rush to declare him dead prematurely.

So, I ask again, who falsely told NPR that the DOJ was undertaking a murder investigation, publishing the story almost two hours before he died?

I looked it up and found the source. The claim that the Cap Hill Police officer was attacked by a rioter with a fire extinguisher originated with an AP report on January 7. The sources are described as two unidentified LE officials.

There has been no further info on his tragic passing, except for recent report coming from ABC mentioning a medical condition.

It seems many took that 1 line fire extinguisher angle & ran wild w it, without any evidence to support their conclusions. Irresponsible but expected.

Of course they did. There were early reports of people entering the building spraying fire extinguishers at the cops to obscure their sight. I knew this would be the natural hyperbole the media ran with.

Twitter guy really likes to omit context to support his point, not to mention this is from a 2-day old article. The claim about the medical condition is also unofficial and, in fact, comes from the same source as the fire extinguisher claim. Of course, he omitted that because it doesn't fit his narrative:

According to sources familiar with the matter, authorities believe Sicknick's death was driven by a medical condition. They're also investigating reports that he was attacked with a fire extinguisher or another item at the Capitol, sources said. So far, reports of an attack haven't been confirmed and authorities are hoping to locate video or other imagery from the scene.

There's literally a video of the guy getting hit with a fire extinguisher lol

The video is more for corroboration than anything, but fire extinguishers typically weigh like 30-35 pounds. That's about the weight of a cinder block, two average bowling balls, or 140 sticks of butter. Shit can do damage.

The way it bounced off the helmet says it was empty.

Aren’t riot helmets made to take that kind of force though? Like bricks and bottles and rocks and shit? Also it bounces off the helmet and hits a guy without a helmet who is still alive so once again, what?

I’m not ruling anything out but the whole event was sketchy af imo

I honestly don't have the knowledge to answer that, they definitely could be designed that way.

If the fire extinguisher story is true, I have a feeling this was probably a case of delayed traumatic intracranial hemorrhage. The back of the head is particularly vulnerable to this kind of injury, hence why rabbit punches and other strikes to the back of the head are banned in all fighting sports.

That thing definitely landed flush and entirely on one guy's head. Slow the video down.
