Operating Rooms are artificially oxygenated to help surgeons focus, stay awake with reduced intake from inhalation while wearing masks. Construction workers do not wear cloth facemasks like people are mandated to wear. False equivalence.

not what commenter referring to. Demoltion/salvage crews wear masks. Drywall crews mask up during sanding. Painters sometimes do. Crews blowing insulation into attics will. Fire/enviro damage clean-up crews wear masks regularly.
There's a handful of trades that regularly wear masks for 1-12+ hours at a shot. Within those trades, there should be a higher incidence of bacterial lung/airway infections if masks are petri dishes.
I've been trying to tell people that this response to COVID is over blown, but because of the overblown response, people will stop believing government officials. The problem? If the next one is a serious bio-attack or a real pandemic, then what?
So, if they're saying masks don't work, and they're playing the part of bad guys, then watch for another strain or attack that's 10 times worse.
Interesting source. Here are some of the actual conclusions of that study (direct quotes from the study itself):
Without a face mask, it is almost certain that many foreign droplets will transfer to the susceptible person. Wearing a mask will offer substantial, but not complete, protection to a susceptible person by decreasing the number of foreign airborne sneeze and cough droplets that would otherwise enter the person without the mask.
Therefore, both the virus carrier and the susceptible person could consider wearing a mask to reduce the transmission and spread of the virus.
Furthermore, depending on breathing comfort, wearing multiple layers of masks could offer increased protection.
This study, which can be treated as precautionary, provides quantitative support to the guidelines proposed by the medical research community that wearing a mask and avoiding close face-to-face or frontal interactions as much as possible will help in preventing the transmission and spreading of virus particles, such as COVID-19, through sneezes and coughs.
That may be, I was pointing out that it's strange that this study was brought up to support OP's statement that masks don't work, given that the study says the opposite. I didn't bring up this study, and I can't vouch for its accuracy.
Masks increase the likelihood of developing bacterial pneumonia.
Is there a higher rate of bacterial pneumonia historically for professions which wear masks regularly? Ex. medical professionals, construction workers
Seems like there should be historical data for at least some such occupations. Do you know of any such analysis?

Exactly, thanks for clarifying.

Oh, I didn't realize people thought they were 100% effective. Even N99 masks only filter 99% of particles.

I think they are just saying you are at risk whether or not you wore a mask. They are saying mask dont work all the time.
NOT A CONSPIRACY.

That's not what they said. Stop posting low quality bullshit. Thank you.
Then what did they say? Stop commenting low effort bullshit. Thank you.
