Interesting. I don't believe this is in an official capacity of Parliament but more like a group of concerned officials. Still, this is a good start. If he comes here, he's likely going to spend the rest of his life in a Super Max and ultimately kill himself.
I still think Assange and Wikileaks have been co-opted by Russia's FSB to do their bidding to destabilize and delegitimize US elected officials. But, I am a staunch believer in free speech and the free press. Wikileaks is no different than RT in my mind.
Hopefully. Having a guy that valuable with lots of the worlds secrets could make him a good asset to the government. Maybe the rest of the world is horrified as China's tilted their hand way too much and revealed their massive ambition.
