Yea, I was gonna say "All I have is a computer and a RETARDED 'smart' phone" but then I was like "Well the computer is a fucking computer and the phone, as cheap as it is, is still a mini computer". That's not to mention my tech geek roommate and my other asshole roommate that thinks these items are status symbols and so has all the "smart" shit he can get because he thinks it makes him smart or something. There's no getting away from the surveillance in most of America.
Intel's IME is basically a separate OS for Israel to use. It is basically "above" your system.. all the passwords in the world don't matter if you can access systems resources such as memory.
Modems, routers also have backdoors... it used to be for domestic spying but now all Chinese produced electronics can, and very possibly, have backdoors.
I'm pretty sure by now China has most people's data, including fingerprints, iris, browsing habits, etc.
I have FreeBSD boxen and a pfSense router. Any phones are on a separate wifi network that's isolated.
I have a smartphone but the only app I have on it is a podcast app. I don't use it for anything except emergency calls and it spends most of it's time off in a glovebox.
Nothing that isn't airgapped is completely secure, but I sure don't make it easy!
Guess I'm not an expert, I've just got a 1994 laser printer.
