What's more, you could start a bot farm and demand Disney pay you money or you talk cr*p about their stock. Or those running this click farms probably dedicate some of their capacity to do so, just to up their rates.
Either way, social media is certainly full of bots insisting stuff like Madama Web is pure gold, how much more of a bot can you be.
That's why I expect them to turn off the internet for just like half a day, blame it on Russian anti-satellite nukes/Chinese hackers/Iranian backed Houtis cutting sea cables.
Combined with something like a nuke in Ukraine, and it'll be total pandemonium. But in that 12 something hour blackout, we won't have any idea what's happening even in the next town over, because we'll have no way of communicating, or even receiving news other than what's being broadcast on radio/tv.
We'll be told to stay indoors "for our own safety", they'll keep the power on so we don't panic too much, deploy the police and military to prevent riots. The news will keep telling us everything is fine and it'll be fixed in a few hours.
But right before it is "fixed", they'll tell us Russia used a nuke in Ukraine or some other big scary thing, and that the government declared a national emergency. All banks and stocks have been nationalized, all deposits have been wiped out, but as a "temporary" solution when they turn the internet back on, everyone can download this CBDC app they've been working on, and it'll give everyone UBI. Isn't that great?! Btw before we forgot small detail cash is banned.
