I don’t see it as a thing we repeat, more so as the evolution of the universe through the evolution of the universal consciousness, of which we (the individuals reading and writing this) represent a sliver of a sliver of the majestic whole.

All will be revealed, whether or not the truth gets incorporated into their being is up to them.

Forgive the music in some parts, there was a superior edit of the film with better sound that was forced down by YouTube for “bullying and harassment” {lol}, this one remains available though and it’s more than worth the watch.

Video of the only (I’ve found) school of what could be described as magic. In my top level comment I link to a PDF by a student of the man in the video. Highly qualified mechanical engineer attempting to apply our modern day scientific paradigm to what he determines (over a decade) to be an entirely genuine and unknown-to-most branch of metaphysical science:

Cool post history! Too bad there aren’t any astroturfed accounts to buy for this site yet!

I think I’ll wait for the video about the video about the Tiffany Dover video, thank you very much.

Hmm fair enough...I guess I don’t see any intrinsic limit to humanity, even our senses which seems to be the make or break point between you and I can be augmented (I.e. telescopes).

I don’t know why one would presuppose there are things beyond our comprehension (infact that sounds semi-religious) could you name any of these things we are doomed to never understand? I know that’s a kind of abzurd question (how many species went extinct before leaving any evidence style), but I guess I just don’t see where you get the confidence you have in this idea of humans

Supposedly brought about by a combination of factors that basically boils down to “you’re getting less sunlight”

What’s the physical reality behind the yugas?

Autumn brings with it a new average temperature, a new day length, the death or atleast temporary hibernation of most trees plants and animals...

I can understand the yugas/precession of the equinoxes/whatever absurdly long cycle you want to talk about symbolically being similar to the seasons or the day or whatever micro-cycle you want to compare it to, BUT I don’t get how they could physically matter/effect humans (in a materialist world view, if they represented “spiritual” seasons or ages, that makes sense, but last I checked you didn’t think we lived in a non-material or spiritual world? I could be misinterpreting your words lol, I’ve done that before.

What is the physical, materialist explanation for these cycles that, according to modern scientific thought, should not really affect/matter to/be noticed by prehistoric man?

You say it’s like gravity, but gravity has tangible effects on these people, they throw a spear up and it comes down, but the precession of the equinoxes I just don’t get how they would have first noticed, MUCH LESS determined it was something worth tracking.

Sure but those stars are also travelling, and infact, just because a few stars are in a single constellation does not mean those stars are physically near each other. Not to mention the fact that different parts of the galaxy are moving faster than others (faster towards the spiral tips).

It is therefore quite fucking unbelievable that Orion’s Belt has the exact same proportions as when the Egyptians made the great pyramid complex a minimum of 5,000 years ago.

The precession is an approx. 26,000 year cycle, that ceases to be about agriculture and starts to approach the cyclical theme of the Indian yugas, Greek ages, or mayan aeons. And if that isn’t metaphysical for a bunch of apes I don’t know what is! Lol

An interesting subject. If you look into it, all the stars of our constellations reside in our galaxy. As we “know”, our solar system orbits our galactic core. It seems utterly implausible to me that from the earliest recorded observations of the constellations, there has been no change. Orion’s Belt remains Orion’s Belt with the exact same proportions over thousands of years.

Meh maybe the NASA explanation is true but idk those guys sure like to deceive so who knows.

"a better world" is not only possible but certain. Cycles demand it to say nothing of the sheer damned size of it.

Ok we overlap more than I thought. These cycles we live through, are they solely of the material or is there anything immaterial to them? For example why should the precession of the equinoxes have been so well studied by our ancestors if it has no means of affecting them?

In our little back and forth in the religion thread? Lol that’s funny, I have a fair few issues with this site technically and trying to navigate nested comments is definitely one of em.

And ya know, after I made that comment I looked at the thread we were in and realized you were probably talking about america, wooshed me before though. I don’t disagree with your points i guess i just disagree with your conclusion. I think a better world is possible, do you?

And just to turn your point around, wouldn’t being a “realist” require you to have achieved the things you claimed impossible in our backnforth? Like having the mental acuity to tell “real” from “not real” with any success?

Hmm good question, I guess if the theme is “unsure what is real”

I’d recommend Pi by Darron Aronofsky and The Machinist with Christian Bale

Jodorovsky's Dune is a documentary about the first guy given the rights to make a movie based on the novel. It’s production was a trip and a lot of the work ended up incorporated in movies like Alien and Star Wars after the Dune project fell through.

In what way do we live in a corpse? The dead and controlled internet? The poisoned earth? A universe fated to heat death?

I called you a nihilist before and you rejected it but what’s a more accurate term?

I mentioned in a docu link thread that I wish he would nut up and say what he really thinks, but atleast his films are out there, shedding some light on the dark.
