Iran and Russia have become closer allies, with Iran outright supplying Russia with weapons. Now suddenly Iran is faced with protests against the regime and government.
Coincidence? No such thing.
It's become almost unreadable... is this by design? Maybe? Probably?
Almost every title is clickbait. For the most part it's screenshots from some social media site that appear profound but is so vague as to be meaningless. A LOT of contrived content. Currently the top post with 5000 upvote is a post about old people being in positions of power, but in the workplace that's usually not the case because they are senile. This isn't even a conspiracy.
Furthermore it's almost all image posts, again with the aforementioned and no actual content. The submissions statement, allegedly to alleviate the stupidity, plays no role in the upvote/downvote system, because it's often buried deep in the comments (as it's not stickied to the top of the comments). Furthermore, there seem to be no standards for the submission statement.
Furthermore, it's become a sort of reddit refuge for any "edgy" politics, usually right-wing. This is fine if it actually relates to a conspiracy, but a lot of it is just politics, political commentary, or social commentary. Moderation seems nonexistant despite 13 users being listed under mods, most of which are quite active.
I remember seeing headlines about this, and reading about it on reputable tech sites. They even seized the domain which I saw.
Now? No mention of it. Can't find the article or any reference to it anywhere. They really didn't want people talking about this, because it's fucking orwellian what they're suggesting: you must have a traceable phone.
I don’t really have anything to back this up except a nagging feeling that all the marketing, hype, and buzzwords simply aren’t true.
Local ISPs have legal restrictions from the federal down to the local level in terms of how they handle your data. You give them a huge monthly bill. You are their customer. AFAIK VPNs operate without any legal requirements. They can say whatever they want. I flat out don’t believe their marketing about privacy, logging, or otherwise. They can pay youtubers to say whatever they want.
In fact I’d go so far as to say someone is pushing for everyone to get a VPN. By all means access your everything through an unregulated server run by an unknown entity that can do whatever it wants.
Take a peek there, there’s a lot of retributionist posts. A lot of “l told you so”, and a lot of overly inflated posts trying to push a point, almost propagandistic levels, as if they were masses of Biden supporters just waiting to come out of the woodwork...
Why the sub is allowed to exist is beyond me... psyop much?
What’s the potential avenue for censorship? Who is in charge of content removal? Are there symbolic rules that will get people banned (racism, etc)? What sort of content is not allowed and why (r/jailbait was technically legal)
