Cane sugar in very small amounts isn't too bad. If you have a teaspoon in your coffee and have a drink with less than 10g for lunch you shouldn't have these issues. Most drinks in the store have 30g and people eat cakes and cookies and granola bars on top of that. Some people probably consume 200-300g a day without even realizing it. I aim for less than 30g per day, including lactose from milk. The less you eat, the less you crave it.
