The vaccine stuff is to corral all the panicking people who think the virus is the black death. Since they are acting as a stampede, you have to front run them and then guide them gently into slowing their roll. Also, if it is actually supposed to be a pop control measure, and mostly lefties buy into it, long term advantageous to the right. Disgusting to me, but they are doing it to their own "side".
You are what you eat. This applies even more so to the immaterial things you consume like media. That's how advertising/etc works. So, 5 years of negative press has its effect on those who trust and consume the media.
