This story is more than a decade old.
But still, does anyone remember the death of Gareth Williams?
The dude was a MI6 agent whom was found dead with his rotting corpse found in a bath inside a red sports bag that was padlocked from the outside and with the keys inside the bag. The heating in William's apartment was turned on likely to speed up the decomposition of William's body. Experts made 400 attempts to lock themselves in a similar bag but failed. No gloves were found in the bag and no fingerprints were found on the padlock or bag.
This obviously sounds like a murder right? But believe this, the Metropolitan Police 'found' that the "most probable scenario" was that he apparently went into the bag, zipped up the bag, and could not get out (why are you laughing? This is not a Joke! but what the Metropolitan Police actually suggested!).
It was the most obvious political assassination ever, with obvious attempts at cover up but no one ever brings it up (as far as I know).
