...such as this one.

It was because they were more effective at ballot harvesting. They put drop boxes in Protestant churches, and had church elders help parishioners fill out the ballots, and then take them in person to ensure they were counted.

Here is some more on the strategy, but alas it is a podcast: https://www.audible.com/pd/Ep-1269-THIS-Is-The-Ballot-Harvesting-Strategy-That-Will-CRUSH-The-Dems-in-2024-Podcast/B0BMN8G4R6

Podcaster oversells the tactic, as in places where ballot harvesting is illegal but still done by the Democrats, there is no effective answer yet that I am aware of for the GOP to respond.

There is a book out I recommend on this topic by Dr. Paul Thigpen, called "Extraterrestrial Intelligence and the Catholic Faith: Are We Alone in the Universe with God and the Angels?"

In short, though, Christ's sacrifice to redeem humanity does not preclude, or prevent other plans for other species.

Some say the government is keeping aliens evidence from the world because it would shatter people's religious faith. If that is true, they are very, very wrong. Thigpen is convinced aliens have visited, but remains open to the possibility he's wrong. Most of the book is spent covering the theology of the matter.

I learned from a very reputable source, that said that Lula got 60 million votes and Bolsonaro got 58, but also that 3 million votes were "thrown out". The source didn't go into detail, other than that Boldonaro is contesting the election, but I don't know how that works in Brazil.

I believe that this is the reason they did it, to prevent a wave of "died suddenly" lawsuits.

The Fifth Circuit held last week that the Consumer Financial Protection Board (CFPB) cannot promulgate or enforce its regulations because, by law, it receives its operating funds each year from the Federal Reserve Board rather than time-limited appropriations statutes.

The Constitution's Appropriations Clause states: "No money shall be drawn from the treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law."

So, when they set this piece of shit agency up after 2008, the CFPB got it's money from the Federal Reserve directly. You can think of a million reasons why this might be a problem, even more than the problems of it getting tax dollars directly.

“Each year, the Bureau simply requests an amount “determined by the Director to be reasonably necessary to carry out the” agency’s functions. Id. § 5497(a)(1). The Federal Reserve must then transfer that amount so long as it does not exceed 12% of the Federal Reserve’s “total operating expenses.” [5th Circuit op.]

This is not an “appropriation”, its an “authorization” because it does not designate a specific sum. The Director is making the “appropriation” so its a violation of the Appropriation Clause.

An indictment of Trump on phony charges will come at some point. They can't back off now. If you attack the king, you better kill him.

The DOJ is just deciding on whether to do it before the midterms or after. If they do it before, will it piss off Republicans and make the "red wave" bigger, or will it demoralize them? Will it give Dems something to cheer on and embolden them?
