Steven Rosswurm’s book, The FBI and The Catholic Church, details the Hoover era FBI's efforts to obtain Catholic moles and informants. Remember that until after WWII and it was showed how they joined and fought en masse, Catholics were never part of the WASP mainstream in America.
The FBI's effort was somewhat of a success, in that Communism is antithetical to Catholicism. The result was a theology that made "the enemy of America became the enemy of the Church" when in fact America was the enemy of the Church. Later, the feds would bribe bishops with government grants.
After WWII, the ethnic enclaves of Poles, Italians, Irish, etc. were broken up by the importation of southern Blacks into northern cities and the "urban renewal" projects that put low income public housing projects into those ethnic neighborhoods. Catholics moved to the suburbs, and became atomized consumerist Americans.
After internal changes to the Church, the average Catholic was attending St. McSurburbia with a watered down liturgy. Many left the faith, and/or didn't raise their kids Catholic.
In short, there are far fewer Catholics today. While there is a progressive wing of Catholics today, they are fewer and diminishing, and the trads are in the process of retaking what was lost in the 1960s/1970s as the older generation dies out and their kids never joined the faith.
Bad-jacketing is "the practice of creating suspicion—through the spreading of rumors, manufacturing of evidence, etc.—which allude to bona fide key organizational members as being either FBI/police informers, or guilty of offenses such as skimming organization funds."
Scholar Mark Anthony Neal writes that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) under J. Edgar Hoover used the technique against the Black Panther Party (BPP) and other Black Power organizations as part of its COINTELPRO operations. Neal writes that this technique was effective in isolating key individuals, forcing them out of the organization, and that its effectiveness was enhanced by the tendency of Black Power activists to divide among "rigid racial, ideological, and increasingly gendered" lines.
The practice was notably used by the FBI informants to create a climate of suspicion within the Black Panther Party and American Indian Movement (AIM), which resulted in the murder of a number of AIM activists that had been subjected to bad-jacketing, including Pedro Bissonette, Byron DeSersa and Anna Mae Aquash. Jo Durden-Smith claims that this technique was used by U.S. prison guards to undermine targeted prisoners and thus make them vulnerable to manipulation. Snitch-jacketing is a form of bad-jacketing that specifically aims to present the target as an informer.

I've started to get the French language equivalent junk emails of the the Nigerian doctor scam or the French tax authorities want to talk to me.
The only French I read is on Duolingo, the language learning app. I also study Italian and Latin on there, but not as much. And I use the free version of their app, because they are woke as fuck, so they don't have my email or identity information from me paying for anything. They have my usage data I don't know how they connect it to my email.
I don't go to French websites, or watch YouTube videos in French, or go to any website at all where French is used. I use the translate app on my Apple once every two weeks or so to check a Duolingo translation. The only French I speak is the 10 minutes a day I use the Duolingo app.
Either my phone is listening to me speak French, or my somehow Duolingo sold my usage data to spammers. Could be something else? Thoughts?
