No matter how you feel about Donald Trump personally this is still true.. whenever there's a movement or an agenda having a cult around a single man is never a good thing. Whether you're a left winger or a right winger you can agree on that.. but when you base your entire ideology around being in a cult around one man then it becomes impossible to actually achieve any goals.. even from there standpoint.. if you want things like cracking down on immigration on the wall and jobs and all of that that's great.. but what happens if Trump doesn't do it? If you're in a cult around Trump then you can't criticize him when he doesn't achieve your goals. It's the same for anybody. If you're in a cult around one person then you can't criticize them if they don't do the things that you wanted.. and you have to change your own ideology and you have to change the things that you support on a near constant basis to constantly keep in lock step with your cult leader rather than supporting certain policies and voting for the candidate that best represents those policies and holding their feet to the fire to get them to achieve your goals.. it makes you lose sight of the fact that public servants are public servants.. they are there to serve you and they are supposed to do what YOU want.. Not the other way around.. but when you're in a cult around a single politician you can't look at it that way.. you can't see them as working for you and expect them to do the things that you want.. you have to constantly change the things that you want in order to constantly be in line with whatever they're doing at the moment.

If you're in the cult and Donald Trump says he wants to build the wall you have to cheer even if you've never considered it before.. then if later he changes his mind and decides he doesn't want to build the wall you have to flip flop with him in order to constantly stay in line with your cult leader..

If Trump decides to withdraw troops from Afghanistan you have to support it. And then if he later changes his mind you have to support that as well.. there's no room for criticism and no room for holding him accountable to the things that you want.. it becomes that he is no longer a politician public servant being expected to deliver for you. You are expected till deliver for HIM

And just so we're clear that can apply to anybody. Not just trump. Any group or movement that becomes a cult around a single person can never truly achieve any real goals because they always have to be supporting whatever that person is doing..
