Hire implies "employ for wages" hence tempting others into making a wager aka placing a bet by taking a chance on want, while ignoring to use ones choice within need.

Within nature...each native is fully employed. Hiring one another represents an artificial contract preventing the natural expression of each hired native, because under contract one works for an outcome; while an employed native has to respond to the work of nature aka effect responding to cause.
