Except all these data centers employ a defense-in-depth strategy combining physical & logical security measures to protect the cloud infrastructure.

Physical Security uses a layered perimeter system including steel and concrete fencing, bollards, and security guard patrols. Access is strictly controlled via two-factor authentication with biometrics at building entrances, with additional metal detection and badge verification required for the datacenter floor, CCTV 24/7 video surveillance and integrated alarm systems. Also locked server racks with around-the-clock video surveillance.

It would be easier to break-in a high security prison than a modern AI data center. Even for employees.

Use fire instead.

fire instead

It's an idea worth considering, although the AI data centers are protected against fire. Water-based sprinklers are not used due to the obvious risks. Clean agent suppression systems are used instead, these use inert gases like nitrogen. Also flame retardants.

Also, temperature is constantly monitored and there is in place very early warning detection to identify smoldering or off-gassing from overheating components before flames appear.
