That is crazy and probably related. Most likely people have been looking for portals for a very long time, I wouldn't be suprised if many actually found them and if this has everything to do with dark happenings with creatures of darkness. Though I will say I've heard where evil abounds God's goodness abounds even more, meaning where there are demons there are angels fighting them.
