They started pushing the Ebola again, but I don't think it will stick. I'm thinking rabies is one that may get people scared. We know they're looking for a reason to lock it all down.

I wonder how they would work this out.
Can only mammals carry rabies and it only be transferred from a bite? The easiest disease transmission to humans, I think, would be bugs like mosquitos or ticks but I don't know what all diseases they can sustain.
Or.. Can rabies be engineered to be air borne person to person? We would literally be living in resident evil, if so..
Former animal control officer here.
Only mammals can carry rabies.
Animals of highest concern in the USA: Bats, Skunk, Raccoon, Fox and Coyote.
Rabies most often sourced from bats.
Extremely RARE. In the last 10 years there's been 1 fatality because the vaccine for this stuff is real.
Rabies is only transferred from the saliva. Transferred by bite OR scratch from an infected animal. Scratch because the animal licks its paws.
Thanks for your expertise.
For it to get epidemical, resident evil esque, there would have to be massive amounts of infections and rabonic zombies then. If rabonic isn't a word, I've just created it and I'm keeping it... Rabid is the technical term, I think, but mine is funnier.

Chew on that. Symptoms can take 1 to 3 months, but once symptoms emerge, it's all over. Guess what is the only state without rabies ... That's right, the same state where the rich are building compounds... Hawaii. Perhaps we would see a reason Hawaii would get "evacuated" before the plan is hatched
Perhaps a volcanic evacuation reason? Hmm
