Jesus acknowledged that the Jews were the descendants of Abraham, but that they weren’t the “children of Abraham” or the “children of God” anymore, but the “children of the devil”. Since Abraham is not their father, but the devil is, the promises that God gave to Abraham of those blessing Abrahams children being blessed does not apply to the Jews. They rejected Christ and are the children of the devil and not Abraham.
In John 8:37 Jesus said “I know you are Abraham’s descendants”.
in vs. 38, “If you were Abraham’s children,” said Jesus, “then you would[c] do what Abraham did.”
In vs 42, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God.
In vs 44, “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires.“
Those who follow the land/law covenant on mt. sinai given to the Israelites that corresponds to earthly Jerusalem are now children of Hagar/Ishmael. It says we should get rid of it because it is of the flesh and not of God. Christians are now the children of the promise, now inherit Jerusalem, which is not of the earthly/flesh but of God in heaven instead.
Vs 28 to 30 For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, and true circumcision is not something visible in the flesh. 29 On the contrary, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart—by the Spirit, not the letter.[j] That man’s praise[k] is not from men but from God.
Clearly says that a Jew is not a person who is one genetically, but instead a person who follow God or a Christian
I'm very sorry, I misquoted the passage, it was Matthew 21:31-45. In the parable he says that the Kingdom of God would be taken away from the Jews and given to the gentiles after they had killed him. This of course did happen with the spread of Christianity.
God doesn't care about earthly Jerusalem, laws, or ethnicity anymore. The inheritance is now heavenly Jerusalem which belongs to Christians or the actual "children of promise".
