I agree it's half of the star. But King David never had a star symbol. This is the star of Remphan.
Also, the jews Bauers had a red ‘Star of David’ on their home in Frankfurt and changed their name to Rothschild which means red shield or red sign in German. This is why the star is on the flag of Israel, because the star is the star of the Rothschild family who created the state of Israel.
