I wonder if that could have anything to do with thugs wanting them exactly for that reason, being so dangerous.

One breed that has the worst reputation is the Pit Bull. These dogs are often considered dangerous pets because of razor-sharp teeth and incredibly strong jaws. But are Pit Bull bite statistics accurate?

A Pit Bull’s average bite strength is about 235 pounds per square inch (psi), and they make the top of the list for the highest number of fatal bites. However, many experts believe this isn’t necessarily because the Pit Bull is more aggressive but because its bite is more powerful than many other dogs.

They receive a bad rap because they’re often used in dog fighting, which can lead to them being seen as a more dangerous breed. It’s important to note that these dogs are usually trained to be aggressive. All dogs are individuals, and not all Pit Bulls are dangerous. According to a recent study, irresponsible ownership is the cause of most aggressive behavior in any dog.

Overall, the evidence does not support the idea that pit bulls are more dangerous than other breeds of dogs. Of course, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be cautious with them. You should be careful with your interactions with any dog, especially if you are not the owner.

That and idiot owners who think tying a lifeform to a tree for the rest of its days as some cheap alarm system (something I seen everywhere in appalachia) or not socializing them properly or being able to control them isnt a big issue.

Some interesting things here.

Chained dogs bite 2.8 times more than unchained dogs. Since 2003, chained dogs have accounted for the killing of more than 450 Americans. Children are especially vulnerable to dog attacks. PETA outlines the events for many recorded chained dog attacks

60-80% of US dog bites happen from unneutered (male) dogs. Unneutered dogs are 2.6 times more likely to bite people and other dogs. That means 70% to 76% of biting dogs are male.

Pitbull attacks on strangers are 31% more likely.

Even a little chihuahua, I wouldnt leave alone in a room with a small child alone, thats just dumb. Alot of these accidents are preventable.

Were talking about a wild animal that was only domesticated within the last 100,000 years. How the heck do people think we domesticated them in the first place? Nice scratch and a treat? Lol, no we killed the ones who bit the hand that feeds.
