I remember when the shooting psyop in NZ happened, the picture of the shooter was released - they shopped his face onto the suspect and it went so viral, nobody could tell it was a fake.

Why would God save a guy who's sure he's not going to heaven? That shot on the earlobe was a practical effect like they used to do in old movies.
I say even Penn & Teller would've refused that gig. How do you insert and remove Comperatore with filming going on everywhere?
