It is unbelievable what level of shit sometimes become beloved by masses. Just like in joke about "million of flies can't be worng!".
The thing is not that shitty corps stealing and trading users private data. The thing is that software they make is an unuseable shit, no normal person should ever choose consciously.
Well, I could understand why many people start to use bloatware like messengers - many people, from family members to coworkers around them literally force them to join this circlejerk.
But I can't understand why use other bloatware. Simple example - MS Office. It was complete garbage since the beginning, and it turned worse and worse with years. The whole concept of making documents that way on the computer is retarded, basically. But many fall to that shit. And so on. Whole OSes with all their environment turned into complete bloatware and spyware rigs, regardless of its past more or less normal ancestors. And even that hadn't awoken users.
I don't know what have to happen to break this insane people's obsession with fucking bloatware.
Take away fucking whatsapp, twitter or icloud, and there will be uprising, something like happened in Bangaldesh. Corps even would not have to pay that crowds much.
You overestimate the wills of peasants in a country the size of America. The worst case scenario of resistance is that cities are where there are concentrations of people who could congregate and thus protest -- but city people are the worst elements of American culture that need to be eradicated.
Yep, that's kind of paradox. More people density - lower people quality. It is despite the common sense intuition that to succesfully exist in high people density area, you have to be better tied with people around.
