a) Number implies the designation of a unit, from Latin unitas; unus - "one". Within nature there can be only one.

b) Number/nem - "to take" implies ones choice of taking what all is giving. Taking tempts one to ignore given, which is why ones choice counting makes one accountable to a chosen ones suggested numbers.
