Hamas was created with help and funding from Israel and the US to counteract Yasser Arafat. Arafat himself referred to Hamas as “a creature of Israel”. More recently Ron Paul and former Israeli officials such as Brig. Gen. Yitzhak Segev confirmed. https://swprs.org/why-israel-created-hamas/
