There is nothing wrong with wearables at all. And there is everything wrong with situation when all available brand produced wearables on the market need connection to interent to be useable.
Also, it should be heavily and loudly noted that all proposed wearables targeted at measuring and detecting only consequences of shit consumption and living wrong way, not prevention of consuming that shit. No corporation produce a wearable that could detect GMO in food or polymers in clothes f.e. Even much simplier things is absent from their portfolio.
Strange but I see no any indignation about that, only "wearables bad" vibe. That's just wrong and pity.
However, you still could find useful gadgets even in that situation. Mostly on aliexpress or whatever China marketplace. And no, this cheap chineese Geiger counter or halogen detector does not need internet connection or murky app to work.
You will not find Geiger counters made by Apple/Microsoft/Google. You will not be able to find halogen contamination detector, EMF sensor or evironment oxygen meter in the gadgets produced by that companies too. They even don't think about adding something like that into their wearables and gadgets. Funny, but looks like Chineese manufacturers do better job in allowing you to really know what you eat, what you drink, what you breath and where you live. :)
Oh you mean like these patents from Microsoft? DoD has them too somewhere.
