Having a "big reveal" that's always "just a little ways down the road" is some 101-level social-engineering attempting to keep the sheep milling around on the plantation if out of curiosity than anything else.
I mean, just listen to the guys at ~4:00-5:00 going on and on about how "2027. 2027! It's always 2027!" when those of us who've been alive a little while can remember when muh "BiG rEVeAL" was DEFINITELY (this time) going to be 2020, 2012, 2000, 1999, 1984, ... 1899...1666...
