I was told he was Jewish by someone in real life who is usually correct about these matters and I didn't look up an online source before posting. Maybe he was mistaken. Crypto-Scottish Jews is actually quite a thing. Non Jews usually aren't heads of German banks. Yet they could be I suppose.
