Wasn't he killed because of an investigation in USS Cole which some believe to be a false flag-ish.

Also, I heard about that he was investigating an Israeli missile strike on Egyptian oil rig. But of course in the tv movie about him they forgot all these conspiracy theory and made him look like he wanted lot more surveillance on arabs
