I don't get how the planet supposedly travels thousands of miles through space while spinning in circles being pulled by the sun which is also hurdling through space yet Polaris is always fixed in the same location.
You ever sit in a car and look out the window? Ever notice how the road signs go by quickly while the trees across the field seem to go slower, even though they're travelling the exacr same speed relative to the car?
Imagine the trees are a couple billion light years away. How fast do you think they would seem to move?
