The script for revolutions is that the protaganist has to be jailed.
Hitler, Castro, Ghadaffi, Mandela, served time in prison for anti-government activities before leading a revolution.
The indictments on Trump kind of serves the same purpose. It's to show the public that he is selfless and he will do what is best for the people.
