It's not just the medical community. Governor Cuomo denied HCQ to all but 1,100 New Yorkers, then millions panicked and fled. That spread it all over the place. This was before his nursing home debacle.

40+ Governors followed his precedent, and most blamed it on medical authorities instead of being honest.
