It's about the same as when Ford didn't recall the Pinto, which caught fire when it was collided with from behind....the numbers folks in finance told them it was cheaper to pay out the death claims than do the recall.

Maybe the class actions suit will have legs, but nobody will get rich but the lawyers in the end.
