Not a conspiracy. They've been hated throughout the ages so if they could obfuscate their background to increase their chances of success they did it. It also makes sense when you're trying to engage with a broad audience that might struggle to pronounce your 12 letter name. Plenty of logical explanations for their choice that don't require some evil master plan to trick whitey lol. They might run the town but they sell their wares to those outside of it.
