I live at a place where we had 98% of the sun blocked. It got as dim as late evening for about 5 minutes, with a sudden drop in temperature. Other than those two things, you would never know there was an eclipse unless you looked at the sun with the special glasses, even at it's peak, it was still plenty bright.

I was in San Antonio. I was closely watching all the animals on the farm and my grandmother with dementia. I was expecting a reaction but they were calm all day. It did start to rain a bit so the chickens ran home pretty fast and my grandmother hates it outside so the rain did cause a reaction in her as well.
