That's real beyond comprehension, brother. No matter who it is, it's ridiculously hard to deprogram and start seeing the world for what it is. It must be especially difficult for people who genuinely believed they were doing good, only to realize what they were actually doing. I wouldn't want to be in those shoes.
I had a friend, young guy, who was a machine gunner in the Marines in Iraq last time I heard of him he'd OD'd on meth and fentanyl and was brain dead. He killed SCORES of innocent people he came home to his own three kids and could not adjust
That's absolutely brutal for everyone involved. Played the unwitting role as the fist of an evil empire, destroyed hundreds of people's lives and now his kids/wife/family's lives have been crushed and changed forever. I wish people would wake up. We're just pawns in games played by evil people.
Just thinking about it pisses me off, they took the people who believed were the good guys and make them do unspeakable things at the cost of their souls and sanity. Most people are completely unaware of the world they live in or the monsters they allow to make decisions for them.
Stuff like this is why I support those of you who went through all of that, but the meatgrinder that put you there pisses me off. Good men got thrown into something they didn't know they were getting into and once it chewed you up it spit you out and filled your boots with the next wave of recruits.
I don't regret it, I have a more realistic view of the world than those of my generation who stayed here in comfortable little lives of mediocrity but I do regret how many had to die for me to see the world for what it is
