In the Western world the swastika is synonymous with fascism
No. It is in Jewish controlled world swastika is synonymous with fascism. For whatever reason, Jews physically hate anything that have a form of cross. Especially cross with bent ends. You even will not find ambulances with red cross in Israel, f.e., It is something nearly instinctive for the Jews. Show to the Jew something with swastika-like ornament, and it will began to writhe like possessed. Or not "like", but "because".
http://www.peshera.org/khrono/Fotos-09/foto-649.jpg - typical Russian Vologda region tablecloths, coverlets, towels and dress ornament, widely used for millenia till WWII. Tons of such things not only in local museums, but even in families as ancestors legacy things. It is not accounted as something Third Reich connected, and not even prohibited, but hardly any factory will roll out something with such ornament, just in case. In buddhist regions of Russia swastika often used as ornament on handicraft things even now. Russian authorities have less strict rules for minorities.
Also interesting that some Russian banknotes, issued after February revolution in 1917 had swastika on them. It came from cliches prepared by overthrown Russian Empire government. Then, after bolshevik revolution in October 1917, banknotes, issued by new bolshevik government, still had swastika on them, due to using old cliches, but not for very long - jewish bolsheviks quickly get rid of hated symbol. So, there exist Soviet banknotes with swastika. :)

Christians have the red cross, Jews have the red star, Muslims have the red crescent, and there used to be a red lion for Iran before the Islamic revolution.
